The date and venue are set for the Second Annual Connected Learning Summit (CLS): October 3-5, 2019 at the University of California, Irvine. The conference location will alternate between UC Irvine and MIT, where the MIT Scheller Teacher Education Program/The Education Arcade co-hosted the First Annual Connected Learning Summit in August 2018.

With a unique focus on cross-sector connections and progressive and catalytic innovation, CLS brings together leading researchers, educators and developers. The program includes a mix of engaging presentation and workshop formats ranging from speculative design, to game walkthroughs, sharing work in progress, and research panels.

We encourage the submission of academic papers and project presentations as well as more innovative session formats which focus on digital technologies for learning, educational and commercial games and other media, innovative tech-infused curricula, and theoretical and/or empirical exploration of digital media and technology for learning.

The window for submitting proposals opened earlier this month and will remain open through March 8, 2019. Visit the conference website for full details on the submission process and session formats that will be accepted – including Workshops, Ignite Talks, Tech Demos, Symposia, Hall of Failure, Well Played, and Showcases. Posters for an evening reception will be hand-selected from working paper and full research paper submissions. Abstracts from all session types will be included in the Connected Learning Summit Conference Proceedings.
