Maureen Hughes

Lecturer

Maureen joins the STEP lab as an education lecturer. She has 19 years of experience in public education – including working as a teacher and as an administrator. She is committed to ensuring prospective science and math teachers have a deep understanding of pedagogy and the necessary educational tools to inspire future STEM leaders. She brings a global perspective to her teaching and her research, as she investigates how historically marginalized and disadvantaged populations perform within top educational systems worldwide. Maureen holds a B.S. from Duquesne University, a M.A. and an Ed.M from Teachers College, Columbia University and a Ph.D. from Boston College.
