[Fwd: idiom request: minimum surrounding patch value]





Hi,

I need to work out which of the 8 patches round a turtle has the lowest of a

particular value (choose randomly if there are several equal values).  

This seems a fairly good fit for the gradient functions of StarLogo, but
these
seem to be missing from Java StarLogo.  Does anyone have a simple idiom or
code example for this?
