Boys and Girls,

We DO have a Windows 95 version of Starlogo running reasonably on a
mid-size Pentium. We've worked with Mitchel's group at the Media Lab
for the past year in trying to come up with a port fairly faithful to
Starlogo 1.5. In this I think we've succeeded. The major problems
we're currently dealing with are (1) cosmetic interface issues, (2)
missing functionality (e.g., monitors), (3) some syntax differences
between 1.5 and 2.0 (4) and bugs, plenty of them. I HAVE
optimistically mentioned to a few people that the port would be ready
in a few weeks - translated -> now. I ask that you all have JUST a
little more patience - I'll periodically post the status of the port on
the UMaine Starlogo website at http://www.asap.um.maine.edu/starlogo/

My current thinking is this. I'd like to make a tightly controlled
"alpha" version available JUST to the people on Mitchel's Starlogo
users list. We have a password protected website that I can give alpha
testers access to. The intent would be to give dedicated people a look
at our work in progress - not for the faint of heart. What do you all
think?
