Several weeks ago StarLogo was on TV - some NBC (Europe) science magazine.
StarLogo was used to simulate the spread out of genetically altered 
mosquitos.
The idea was - as far as I remember - to fight malaria by 'replacing' the 
 
current mosquitos responsible for the infection by geneticly altered 
which  
are no longer able to spread the virus/bacteria (don't remember what it 
was).
