Overview

The Education Arcade and STEP embody MIT’s philosophy of ‘mens et manus’: we are committed to improving teaching and learning at every level. We strive to transform kids into creators and explorers. We provide fun and accessible ways to explore real and virtual worlds, experiment with technology and use games to build math and science skills. The games, simulations and tools we develop in the Education Arcade are designed with the educator in mind. They use technology to create powerful learning environments in schools, in the home and in the community.

Research and Collaborative Design

Our passion for play permeates all of our research-based design initiatives. This approach informs both our design and our iterative development.  It is also the driving force behind our efforts to continuously improve our products and services.
